The Team

Scott Clark, Managing Editor
Scott Clark is the Executive Editor of internet.com's Developer Channel and Windows Technology Channel. Previously, he was Managing Editor of WDVL.com and JavaBoutique.com, as well as Technical Editor for Web Developer magazine and later, WebDeveloper.com. He was part of the Dr. Website team for over 5 years, and continues to love discovering and using new internet technologies.

Mike Houghton, Webmaster
Mike Houghton replaces FK's former webmaster, John Starkey. A man who Mike claims could be his role model and mentor. Coming from a hardware and development background Mike has furthered his education at several technical schools, and has a broad resume of IT and development experience.

Mike joined Jupitermedia Corp. in September of 2002 as a contributing writer and took over as Flash Kit Webmaster in November of 2004. Mike also continues to serve as Managing editor for www.Jars.com and a freelance writer and moderator for several other forums.

Dan Ragle, Perl Mangler
Dan Ragle is the managing editor of Jupitermedia Corp's Internet Product Watch, and Assistant Editor of WebReference.com. He also plays off the bench and assists with the development of FlashKit, JavaScript.com, Streaming Media World, and other INT Media Group sites. He can most often be found huddled in front of his computer, drinking Pepsi, eating Reeses, and grumbling what we believe are obscenities directed at the latest browser bugs and inconsistencies.

Dan joined Jupitermedia Corp early in 1999, following a 12 year run with Spring Arbor Distributors (now a part of Ingram) as a Systems Coordinator. Prior to this, he attended the University of Michigan, where he received his BM in Music Education.

The Volunteers

Flash Kit's success is not just in the team running the site, but in the many volunteers who spend countless hours moderating the board. You can take a look here to see who they are, what they do and if they're currently online. These are industry pros who set aside time each day/week to devote to helping newcomers and those with complex questions regarding Flash and other third-party products. By volunteering their time, they are also contributing greatly to the growth of the Flash Design and Development Community. To learn more about these amazing deities, check out the Mod Squad Forum.

From the creator of Flash Kit

About Flash Kit.... Flash Kit started late October in 1999. We built it because we wanted to create a resource site that as flash developers, we would find useful. We built it to create a one stop raw materials centre for flash creations, after having spent hours surfing for sounds, images and ideas, it seemed to me a great idea to collate and collect as much as we could into one place!

We never realised how much hard work has to go into creating a site of this nature. At every point we take a step back and think to ourselves "would that help us?", "Would that be useful?". Combined with the task of sourcing content, collating content, presenting content, administering the site, promoting the site, and adding functionality to the site, whoah, some serious late nights!

To undertake the site I partnered with Steve Williams from TurnAround Solutions, CEO of an Australian development house. Between us we have pushed Flash Kit to the limit, hopefully providing a valuable and useful site to the flash and multimedia community at large.

In January 2000, we became part of the internet.com network, a great sign of recognition, and its propelled the site further forward with us being able to create a host of new features, and even better, we have lots of bandwidth to use!

Flash Kit succeeds because of the generosity of the community it serves, and I would like to say a special thanks to the users, and the contributors out there who have used, seen, or sent to Flash Kit, your contributions, loyalty and support over the years. It is truly appreciated.

Regards,
Mark Fennell
Flash Kit Founder Sydney, Australia.
